Q for Q And A

Time for Q!

Third week of April is coming to an end. It is Friday and I am writing a new post for A to Z Challenge.

I did not post for last two Fridays. It was my (sort of ) break day instead of Sunday.

Today I will be sharing one book and few quotes from the same.

I could not make time to visit or comment (even post reply) recently other wonderful blogs in this challenge. This Saturday I will make sure to visit as many blog posts as possible.

It was really hard to recall a book that starts with Q. I had to run a quick search for it. Then I remembered one book.

The name of the book is Q and A. Author of the book is Vikas Swarup.

This is his first novel published in 2005.

An Oscar winning movie named Slumdog Millionaire is based on this book. You can find more information for this book.

Let me share the quotes now:

1. A great artist is not one who merely fits into a genre but one who defines the genre.

2. You must never take a direct route to your destination.

3. God made the human body like a machine with built-in obsolescence.

4. One does not question a miracle.

5. And for the first time in my life, I saw something new reflected in the eyes that saw me. Respect. It taught me a very valuable lesson. That dreams have power only over your own mind. But with money you can have power over the minds of others.

6. Love doesn't happen in an instant. It creeps up on you and then it turns your life upside down. It colors your waking moments and fills your dreams.

7. Appearances can be deceptive and the dividing line between good and bad is very thin indeed.

8. It's a basic rule of human nature that the promise of unexpected wealth short-circuits both intelligence and common sense.

9. Train journeys are about possibilities. They denote a change in state. When you arrive, you are no longer the same person who departed.

10. Never judge a man's actions until you know his motives.

I like all the quotes but two of them - 4th and 6th one are my favorites.

Which quote did you like? Have you read this book? I am sure you must have at least watched the movie. Some people like the book more than movie. What about you?

Please do share your feedback or views in comments. I like reading your lovely comments.
It motivates me to share more favorite books and authors with you all.

Tell me if you have read any other books that start with letter Q.
I like reading and am open to book suggestion.

Thank you for visiting. I will see you all soon with a post on R.

  1. Sorry, I haven't read the book OR seen the movie!
#10 is so true, unfortunately true.
I think I would question a "miracle!" I'd be apt to question its motives! But, then, I don't believe in them.

  2. 9 rings true for me. I don't take the train often, but each time I have, it has been a unique experience that stands out in memory.
